Money

We put up lot of hard work during our prime time sometimes even at the cost of our personal and social commitments so that by the time we retire, we are able to save enough money so that we can live peacefully for the rest of our life . But unfortunately, by the time we retire, we are afflicted with all sorts of ailments, and we end up spending all our savings trying to restore our health. We are back to square one. We repent for not being able to devote enough time to our spouse, children and our close friends. We don’t realize that we have to pay the price for earning money. The price we pay could be far more than the value of money we earn in exchange. Many of us have this misconception that money gives happiness. Money cannot give happiness. It can give physical comforts only. A rich person may be afflicted with several diseases like diabetes, cancer, Hypertension etc. Can a sick person be happy with millions of rupees stacked in bank account. Money is important to satisfy our basic needs like food, shelter clothing etc only. We should put up efforts to be able to earn enough money so that we can live comfortably and we are able to satisfy our basic needs. Earning more and more money is a greed and can never be satisfied. Some people want to earn more money than is necessary because they want to lead a luxurious life. Leading a life of luxury is somewhat like taking drugs. The body gets addicted to physical comfort and then it is very difficult for the person to give up luxury and lead a normal life. Too much physical comfort makes the body sick and prone to desease. Some earn more money so they can attain high status and power in the society. Some people are crazy of power because through misuse of power and position, they can earn money. There are some people who are so much obsessed with money that they can do anything for the sake of it. They can cheat, steal, rob, indulge in fraudulent activities which are harmful to the society. Money is the root cause of all the problems today. Divisions are created in families over property disputes. Public Limited Companies go into liquidation over financial irregularities. Underworld dons use threats and other means to extort money from builders, Cine stars, film distributors and financiers etc. Happiness is the state of mind and has nothing to do with money. A poor man who is barely able to make both ends meet can be far more happy than a rich man who has amassed wealth of crores of rupees. A beggar is not scared of death because he has nothing to lose but a rich man is scared of death because he does not want to lose his possessions.

To some extent i agree with u sir but to some i dont!!! I know happiness is more important but do look around n see that without money there's no happiness. Happiness is a product of money itself...as the most important thing is that to strike a balance between both these. If a rich man is not that happy nor is a poor fello.
As u have seen more life n r most experienced u must be knowing better. The want n utility of money cannot b satisfied nor can happiness. If analyze is more closely u'll find sir that most both r in a way very similar and only a there a thin line that divides them.

I guess these are those things that one cant even think of ignoring anyone of them...both have to kept in the bag so as to have a well balanced and healthy life!!!
I guess the debate for this will never get a solution....in fact there should b a little more emphasis on happiness rather than money but the latter is also important!!!

Nice post sir and a nice topic u have chosen!!!

Nazish, I never said, money is not important. Money is important to the extent that it satisfies our basic needs. The point I am trying to drive at is that beyond a certain point, money only satisfies our ego.
Well, I respect your viewpoints.

I read a quote once

"money can't buy happiness but its somehow more comfortable to cry in a Benz than on a cycle"

its true money cant give us everything it can buy materialistic comforts but not a pleasant state of mind... it can buy medicines but not health.... And the best things in the world are priceless.... Still i cant deny the fact its the most important man made thing... :(
