Power of Visualisation
Process of visualisation is mentally picturing yourself to be in a situation you want to be and enjoying the fruits of it in advance. One school of thought says that this process is so powerful that when you are visualising, you are emitting powerful frequency out into the universe. The law of attraction will pick up that powerful signal and return those pictures back to you just as you saw them in your mind. It is revolutionary concept. How far this is true, I cannot precisely tell you but one thing is for sure that visualisation makes you more committed to achieve your objective.

Funny Incidence
This is my own photograph. It was taken in the studio about 15 years ago for my driving License. Whenever I see this photograph, I am reminded of a very funny incident.
My friends in those days used to tease me that I look much younger than my age.
They told me I had no wrinkles on my face. If I dye my hair, I will look so young that girls will run after me. I was somehow convinced that what they are saying is right. I said Why not take a chance. I went to the nearby beauty Parlour and got my hair and moustache dyed with black color.I looked at the mirror and could not recognise myself. I was looking so young and energetic. I was reminded of my college days.I went home very excited. I rang the bell. My elder daughter "Shilpa" opened the main door. When she looked at me, she was stunned. She said "Who the hell are you. You can't be the husband of my mother. You are not permitted to come inside. You go back and dye your hair with white color and then only you will be allowed to come inside. After lot of persuation and giving her written promise that I shall never dye my hair again ,did she let me come inside. Incidentally, she is in London now a days and doing her post graduate studies. I am missing her a lot. Well friends, I paid the price for trying to look young.

New Assignment
I have developed expertise in my own field in view of my long career and I somehow no longer get any kick out of it. Today, my client has assigned me a new task which I have never done earlier in my life. He somehow feels that I think out of the box and may bring about radical change in his business. He is going abroad tommorrow and has asked me take complete charge of his business for 15 days in his absence. It is a very big challenge for me as I am working as a consultant for him since last 6 months and my exposure to his business is very limited. Since he has reposed confidence in me, I will have to live up to his expectation. I am as excited as a 25 year old guy to take up this new challenge. This is a lifetime opportunity for me to prove my worth as a business strategist and planner. May God give me the strength and courage to take up this new challenge. I need your blessings too.

Indian News channels
Television is a very powerful media. It can easily impact and influence the minds of ordinary citizen. My own assessment of the quality of programs churned out by most of our channels is that all of them without exception are pathetically very poor in terms of quality of contents. There are approx 50-60 Indian channels in all languages. These channels can be categorized into 5 or 6 broad based categories. New channels, Reality shows channels, soap opera channels, Sports channels, Music channels, Movie channels etc. Since I see mainly news channels, I will focus my obervation on news channels only. Quality of new channels is determined by the coverage of news and reliability of the news contents. If you observe new channels minutely, you will be shocked to learn that almost 90-95% of contents is focused on domestic news and only a small fraction of total newstime is dedicated to foreign news. If you concentrate on domestic news only, you will find that out of 90-95% contents, almost 50-60% is reserved for Cricket and Bollywood both of which are unfortunately spreading like cancer in Indian society. During election time, of course the election news takes precedence over Cricket and Bollywood. What the news channels show day after day is in a nutshell insignificant news such as malfunction of the wardrobe of half clad models during Ramp shows, Private lives of actors and their affairs, Talk show on why Shah Rukh Khan is Number one actor in Bollywood, Latest Hindi Film Releases with clippings of songs, expert comments on topic such as “Will India emerge as world number one in ICC Cricket Ranking”. If Indian public is so much obsessed with Bollywood and Cricket, let there be a seperate channel dedicated for these two. Even the hard core news shown on news channel is biased, one sided, inaccurate and at best be termed as an opinion and not news. The news is so unreliable that two channels giving the same news give contradictory statements. They have stooped to such low level that they go to the extent of fabricating stories such as “Terror threats from Taliban” with graphic details of their training camps across the border so as to create sensationalisation and increase their TRP ratings . During 26/11 Terror attack, when the terrorists from across the border created mayhem in Taj, Trident, Oberoi Hotels in Mumbai and were busy firing indiscriminately and killing hostages who were holed up inside, all our Television crews were busy outside the hotels giving live telecast of this tragic incident non stop with commentaries to public and in the process were giving valuable clue to the perpetrators of this crime as to what our plans and strategies are to counter the attack. The commando operation could have been finished much earlier had there not been live Telecast. The Freedom of press in a democratic set up does not mean that you become so much insensitive and irresponsible that in a bid to increase your TRP, you don’t care about telecasting events that can jeopardise the security of the country. There is only one solution to curb this dangerous trend, impose censorship through a regulatory body. Self censorship works only in matured democracy where people understand their responsibilities. It won't work in our country. I suggest, a central agency like CRISIL should be formed and should be empowered to give ratings to Television channels based on the quality of software programming and contents. If a particular channel’s rating falls below the minimum rating fixed, it should be disqualified and banned from beaming the program. The common public glued to TV set is somehow reconciled with third grade programs. Has their taste downgraded to such an extent that they are unable to differentiate between the good and bad or is it simply callousness or apathy towards the quality of programs, I don't know.

Food for thought
He who does not know and does not know that he does not know is ignorant, keep him away
He who does not know and knows that he does not know is honest, Teach him
He who knows and does not know that he knows is sleeping, awake him
He who knows and knows that he knows is wise and intelligent, learn from him
He who does not know and knows that he does not know is honest, Teach him
